Max
Max arrived at the shelter in late January of 2017. He was brought in with a group of dogs from a reservation where his previous owner had literally thrown him in a garbage can! Because of this, Max was diagnosed with Demodex (A type of skin mite). He was given antibiotics and, afterward, felt just fine!
Max quickly got attached to Leslie, the shelter manager, and she let him stay with her up in the office every day. It didn't take her long to convince her husband that they needed a new puppy around the house. (Not that he needed much convincing, just look at that little blue face!)
Max still comes to the shelter every day with his big sister Maggie (who is nearly 2 years older than him, and he's already outgrown!), and helps with her job as the "Door Greeter." Everyone who comes in hopes he's a dog we have available for adoption, but Les always jumps in to protect what's hers! But also like a true mom, she's ready to show off her baby to anyone who wants to see! Pretty good for a dog that was supposed to end up in a dumpster!
