Sasha

Sasha came to the shelter in the Summer of 2016. She arrived as a surrender from an elderly woman who could no longer care for her and the 3 other chihuahuas she came with. While the other 3 were adopted within a month, Sasha was extremely frightened by anyone and everyone who came anywhere near her kennel. This, along with the fact that she was already 7 years old, would always turn potential adopters away. Sasha made friends with other small dogs that came to the shelter, but they would always come and go, leaving her sad and alone every time. That's when our assistant manager, Jessica, took action! Jess would bring Sasha up in the office with her every single day, trying to get her more socialized and comfortable with people. After still multiple months of this, Jess decided to bring Sasha home with her on the weekends, and eventually every day. Then, with much pushing from her co-workers, Sasha finally found her forever home with Jess and her family in December. She was a Christmas Chihuahua!

Sasha (A.K.A. Sasha-Bean) still comes to the shelter almost every day with her sister, Piper, and her boyfriend, Gizmo (both of which also came from the shelter) and couldn't be happier! We all love Sasha with all of our hearts, and she couldn't be more loved by anyone than her new mom!
